A bit about myself – I am a 55 year old Nebraskan, mother of 3 kids, with one grandchild. I have been married for 21 years. I enjoy DIY projects and my current focus is our 1920’s craftsman home and its various restoration projects. And I REALLY like decorating for Halloween and Christmas! I do a live scene every Halloween featuring a different theme each year. We’re kind of known for it!

I am lucky enough to have a job that I love. I now work at a cancer center, and it is amazing! That’s after over a decade of a job that sent my health into decline to the point where I was diagnosed with PTSD, depression, anxiety, heart issues, high cholesterol, and multiple surgeries on my feet and ankles due to stresses and overwork on the job. Add a diabetes diagnosis in May of this year to top it all off.

A bit of disclosure to keep it real, I have gone through my ups and downs, just like everyone. A difficult marriage leading to a separation of 5 years with a recent reconciliation. Amazing kids, but not always a smooth road. Getting those phone calls that you don’t want to hear when your kids are in trouble or making decisions that you know are a train-wreck. No picture perfect life here! But I believe life is what you make of it!
